Ken left for work this morning at 4:30. He has to drive down to Norfolk and and catch a 6:00 am or 6:30 flight down to Houston, Texas. I went back to bed at about 5:00 and got up at 8:00 or so.
I bought new walking shoes this weekend and am going to add some weight-bearing exercise to my routine. I'll probably start with the treadmill and the stationary bike. It bores me to tears so I need to make sure I bring my iPod. Hopefully I can drop the weight I have gained over this last year. I had just lost 60 pounds, then whammo, I had to start taking a handful of medications to make me sleep at night and to keep my bipolar-ism at bay.... Unfortunately, my choice is to not take meds and then subject my poor husband to my radical mood swings, and also stay at a lower weight, or take meds and feel like a normal human being with extra weight on my auld hen's frame. Maybe I can drop the weight. That is my intention.
Today's lunch was a chicken salad. I used red leaf and romaine lettuce, red cabbage, very finely sliced; thin slices of carrot, red bell peppers, raw sunflower seeds, raw pumpkin seeds avocado, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Oh, yeah... I also cut up chunks of chicken breast. I was muy tasty.
There is also laundry and fiddling to be done, but I'm feeling quite drowsy (Fun byproducts of my meds), so I think I'll shut my eyes for a while before I head to the Y, or start fiddling, and certainly before I start doing some laundry.
More later......
Ohhh this was the salad that made you sick. :(
ReplyDeleteI hear you about the meds and gaining weight. I was on BC pills and it made me gain weight. I decided to get off of them and if we get pregnant then I guess we will be havin' a baby. LOL... otherwise I am thrilled to be off of them!
Do you like to go hiking in the woods? We do! If so you all could come along when we do such things once we get our butts up there!
