Ahhhhh..... Bob Saget!! I'm home after a fun night at the hospital. Food poisoning. I was so utterly miserable. They only upside, or new and adventurous thing was having my first ride in an ambulance. I texted Brett and Ken and Amanda.
I haven't slept much, but I imagine that it will hit me sooner than later.
I've had loads of fun with diarrhea which, unfortunately meant I had some laundry to do. Arrrrrrrgggggh!
Still feeling shitty, but it is a much lesser level of shitiness than last night.
I had to cancel my fiddle lesson.... :-( .... That's all for now.

Monday afternoon- July 25th, 2011
Ken left for work this morning at 4:30. He has to drive down to Norfolk and and catch a 6:00 am or 6:30 flight down to Houston, Texas. I went back to bed at about 5:00 and got up at 8:00 or so.
I bought new walking shoes this weekend and am going to add some weight-bearing exercise to my routine. I'll probably start with the treadmill and the stationary bike. It bores me to tears so I need to make sure I bring my iPod. Hopefully I can drop the weight I have gained over this last year. I had just lost 60 pounds, then whammo, I had to start taking a handful of medications to make me sleep at night and to keep my bipolar-ism at bay.... Unfortunately, my choice is to not take meds and then subject my poor husband to my radical mood swings, and also stay at a lower weight, or take meds and feel like a normal human being with extra weight on my auld hen's frame. Maybe I can drop the weight. That is my intention.
Today's lunch was a chicken salad. I used red leaf and romaine lettuce, red cabbage, very finely sliced; thin slices of carrot, red bell peppers, raw sunflower seeds, raw pumpkin seeds avocado, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Oh, yeah... I also cut up chunks of chicken breast. I was muy tasty.
There is also laundry and fiddling to be done, but I'm feeling quite drowsy (Fun byproducts of my meds), so I think I'll shut my eyes for a while before I head to the Y, or start fiddling, and certainly before I start doing some laundry.
More later......

My Monday
I drove up the Colonial Parkway to Williamsburg. I had an appointment with my doctor so I could get a refill on my prescription of Nexium, I've got chronic gastritis and duodenitis b/c I no longer have a gallbladder, so the bile drips down into my small intestine and then gets tossed back up into my poor stomach. Anyway, since Ken is commuting to Houston Monday through Thursday, he leaves "his" new car behind for me to drive. It is a very zippy Mazda. In fact, it is so zippy and nimble that there are only two other cars under $100,000.00 that can out perform it. It think it's great fun to drive.... There was an exit that said 20 mph.... so, I downshifted and went flyin' 50 mph around the curve. This should make peoples ROFL all over the place since I am an auld hen of 55 yrs. Heck, I think it's funny, but I digress.
I frequently get lost whenever I go to Williamsburg. This morning was no exception. I even got lost once I was inside the stinkin' building. I think I have had one hot flash too many. I am now mentally retarded. I used to be really smart, but not now. I have C.R.S. That is a facet, I believe of part-timers, which segues right into full-timers.
I drove back down the Parkway and had some lunch (a green salad with some deviled eggs I made the day before) once I got home. Our friend, Suzie is staying with us. She just finished reading a book, so we made a pilgrimage to Books A Million where she bought a book and I, a journal with a new Pigma Micron pen..... I loves those pens.
Oh dear, I just realized that I began each paragraph with "I"!!! Sheesh.... Oh well.
So, it is now 6:34 pm. Ken is working down there in Houston and I am sitting here digesting some Quaker Oatmeal Squares for dinner )Wait.... I'm living in the South... I think I am supposed to say, supper. Ok, I just finished supper (My grandfather always said supper, but he was a Californian like me.
I have Allison Krauss playing on Pandora. she is such a fine musician. I really like her music. She's got this beautiful, pure voice and she's also a really good fiddler. And speaking of music, I still need to rosin up the bow and play some fiddle tunes myself.

Thursday Evening at McFetridge Ranch Hacienda
I did all sorts of things today... I am pleased withe myself. Laundry is done. I even washed all our little throw rugs from the laundry/mudroom and kitchen. They look new. I fiddled some today. I worked on "Sail Away Ladies", "Cherokee Shuffle" (that was a fun one)and a few more I can't remember. I like my girlspace. It looks out over our long backyard which has lots of nice trees (Maples, Cedars, Virginia Pines and a young little Red Bud tree). I sit in front of the two large windows and fiddle away. This Fall, Ken is talking about putting French Doors in where these windows are and moving them to another wall. There will be a narrow deck that will connect, I think, to the existing deck. This will be very, very neat!
Shooooet! I said I did all sorts of things today... ok... I went on a 30 minute walk with The Poodster (Our Brussles Griffon). She's great to take on walks. She stays right at my side and never pulls. She also doesn't stop to sniff or piddle every three feet. I talk to her most of the way telling her what I nice, small, tiny, miniature little, no good for something puppy she is. She likes this a lot. She looks up to me every now and again like it makes perfect sense to her. Anybody else would probably send me to the looney bin.
Oh yeah, and another thing I did was to take a 2 1/2 hour (or so) nap. I thinks me medications probably keep me feeling drowsy.... either that or my thyroid is tanking again. It's probably the drugs. I'm a walking pharmacy, but this is ok. Better living through chemistry.
I'm now pausing to see what other of the "all sorts of things" I might have done today.... Well, I cleaned out the kitteh litter box, dumped trash, scrubbed toilets and spent time on Facebook putting pictures on somebody's Facebook page. I also watched the movie, Secretariat"on Netflix. I really liked it.
Ken is up in the air about 45 minutes to an hour from home. He is flying back from Houston. It looks like he will be commuting to Houston until October or November, then he will most likely be working/commuting to Aberdeen, Scotland for 6 months to year. I haven't been away from him for that long before. It will be three weeks over there in misty, grey, damp, Scotland and threes back over here. The three weeks back home should be really fun. We can actually go on adventures together, and work on the house, etc.
I've got some chicken baking in the oven right now for my brother when he gets home tonight (at about the same time Ken gets in). It has sliced garlic (the garlic is from our garden last year), rosemary sprigs, a little sherry vinegar, and olive oil. It always smells so good while its baking.
Ok, I'm shutting 'er down for the night....

Sleep Study Day
Yep, I have a sleep study scheduled for 9:00 pm this evening. Ken was up early to catch his flight down to Houston. He was up at 3:40. I tried going back to sleep, but tossed and turned and got up at 4:15. I was going to go back to bed, but I am not supposed to take a nap today. Flap.... I feel like a zombie, probably look like one, too. I've got major bedhead which will have to be tamed before I see anyone today.
I get to bring my favorite pillow. Yipeee! They are going to attach upteen wires/eclectrodes(?) to me. I get to sleep in a pretend bedroom while people watch me sleep, or not sleep all night. Hopefully they will get useful information and they can find a way for me to sleep soundly.
I think I will have to go do my Old Duffer's Water Aerobics at the Y this morning. I think that will help wake me up some. I am still feeling the effects of my nightly cocktail of pharmaceuticals to help me sleep....
The swimsuit is on and I'm headin out the door.
I had a dream, once again, about our farm we had when I was growing up. Maybe I will write down what I remember later. I have had many of these dreams.... they are all similar in that The farm was sold, and I am trying how to figure out how to get it back.
